WynterCon 2017 🏳️‍🌈

Whether you’re an ewok, elf, wizard or dragon, it doesn’t matter, as whatever world you are from, you are welcome in ours.

The award-winning Wyntercon is returning to Eastbourne this October (7-8) and will be welcoming everyone, regardless of their background. Based in Prince’s Park for the first time, the sci-fi extravaganza will be playing host to characters and actors from some our favourite films and TV shows, including Harry Potter, Primeval, Game of Thrones and for those of us of a certain age, the cult children’s TV programme, Knightmare.

There promises to be something for everyone, from a replica Jabba the Hutt photoset, to a variety of creative workshops for children and a chance to meet a real-life Harry Potter Death Eater, as well as a Cosplay area and free to enter competition, dinosaurs, community gaming, replica Labyrinth props and local authors/artists and traders.

Also joining the two-day event, is Bourne Out LGBT, who recently held their first Pride event in Eastbourne. They’ll be having a stand at Wyntercon, to offer support and advice to anyone struggling with their sexuality.

Betty ‘Scottie’ Gallacher from Bourne Out said, “We were delighted to be welcomed into Wyntercon with open arms. At Bourne Out, we know how hard some people find it to be ‘different’ to what can be perceived as the norm. So, it’s vitally important that everyone can come together and enjoy an event like Wyntercon, without being judged. After the success of our Pride event, it’s fantastic to see Eastbourne putting on more diverse events.”

It’s not just visitors who rate Wyntercon as a must-see event. Last year, Wyntercon was awarded the Hospitality, Tourism and Leisure Award 2016 by the local business community, and earlier this year, Wyntercon was presented with the Equality and Inclusion Embrace Award.

So I recently got contacted by a company to do a review of a product to do with hypnosis I recently spoke to a co worker who got hypnotised 5 yrs ago to quit smoking it cost him £200 and he hasn't had a cigarette in 5 yrs so I was intrigued to see if hypnosis could work for other issues 

So when hypnosis Ninja got in touch I thought I would give it a try, I have been playing the downloaded track once a day for the last 4 days 

When you purchase a pack you get a download which you then listen to, it's a 20 mini it's track which walks you through all the steps you need to do. 

I prefer to lye down when I listen to mine as I listen to it before I go to sleep after work. 

I downloaded to food one as I eat lots of snack food due to odd working hours, it for say in the download that if you do fall asleep that it will still work as it talks to your unconscious mind 

Now I'm not gonna lie when I got to the shop before work I always buy a £3 meal deal, carrots with humus, some bottled water and then snacks of sweets or crisps since I started I have moved away from these and going for just a ready meal, and rice crackers the first day I did it when I walked to the shelves my mind don't me I don't need this (as in the food) it was a weird sensation but I would definitely recommend listening to the track at least once a day. 

I will keep doing this for a few more days and update the post after a week of using it !

I was born and grew up in Liverpool during the 50s and married at 21, had a daughter, then made my first leap and moved to Canada.
I lived and worked there for many years.
I remained a stay-at-home mom until my daughter was a teenager.

I then went back to school full time and achieved my Advanced Aesthetic Diploma. Armed with my new qualifications, I opened ‘About Face Aesthetic’ in Sarnia, Ontario which became an extremely successful business, with a thriving client base.Five years later, I was asked to join forces with a local plastic surgeon called Dr Kenneth Dickie, who, with his lovely wife Shawnie, introduced me to the fascinating world of lasers. I worked alongside them for several years until they moved to Alberta.

I started a new business, ‘About Face Laser & Medical Aesthetics’ and during my first year of trading won the 'Entrepreneur of the Year' Award presented by the local Chamber of Commerce. My clinic began to grow. I brought a doctor on board who specialised in laser & injectables and he encouraged me to purchase an advanced medical laser called the Fotona SP Dynamis. 
Fotona is the oldest laser company in the world; they manufacture in Slovenia and their technology and research is the most renowned. They simply produce lasers and nothing else, thereby ensuring their technology is completely dedicated to developing lasers to the highest standard.

As I already had a love of laser technology, I attended their classes in Slovenia. I am passionate about my work and over the past seven years I have attended eight training sessions to ensure that I am always completely abreast of any improvement, new ideas or technological changes.

Every year Fotona host a medical congress and invite their users, doctors and specialists from all over the world, and give updates on their case and research studies. I absolutely love it because every year they introduce new, innovative and amazing uses for laser. 

In May 2015 I made a huge life-changing decision. I wanted to move back to the UK so I sold my house, my clinic and my Canadian business, which, I’m pleased to see is still thriving as its new owners have the same passion about laser aesthetics as I do.

The first thing I did upon arrival in the UK was to purchase a brand new Fotona SP Dynamis Laser and as soon as I was settled in my new home town of Eastbourne, I started my new business, ‘About Face Laser and Body.’

What Is Love 2017🏳️‍🌈

So 

I wrote a post last year 

at the start of my blog

I wrote the post 3 years ago this October but only published it last year 

I have written hundreds of posts, 

Poems, & stories which I have never took the time to actually sit down and put them all into digital form as I am to lazy to do it 

I published a free book on iTunes 

With 10 small stories/poems and it has had over 4,000 downloads 

So you think this would spur me on 

but it hasn't 

I have just finished watching a web series called hunting season season 2 

and the last episode 

really got me thinking about life in general 

Everyone in the 90s dreamed of being 

Carrie from Sex and city and write a blog that people will follow but I never realised it till now a year ago I said I was going to start writing more posts and putting them online and I just haven't 

I haven't made a decent youtube video in a long time I just haven't felt creative 

Which for me is a bad thing 

But then I ask myself why I haven't 

Is it cause I'm sad .......... maybe 

Is it cause I'm lonely ...... maybe 

Have I been waiting to find them 

one and not been looking in the right places ....... maybe 

Had casual sex and dating apps killing my passion for finding love ??? 

I think it might be 

We live in an age for me as a gay man 

To open an app and hook up with people at a few clicks of some buttons 

Some empty words 

A few sexual gestures 

And 20 minutes later your hooking up with a random stranger 

Where is the romance in that !!! 

And I've been doing it for too many years 

So today is the day 

I delete all the apps and start moving 

Myself forward 

Get out of this funk and do something worth while 

Let it be know 

The words and posts that will start to appear will be not for the faint hearted 

It's not going to be seedy or crude but I need to get all the bad stuff out from my past 

So I can look forward to my future 

Cause lets face it 

I ain't getting any younger 

And with my family history 

I'm gonna be bald by the time I'm 40 

So here we go 

No holds barred 

Unfiltered and ready to dish the dirt 

So 1 year ago I wrote 

What is L-O-V-E 

and to date it is one of my most viewed blog posts 

And in the last year I learnt nothing so 

We're going back to the old school

#SlimmingWorld Syn Free Slow Cooked BBQ Pulled Pork

BBQ Pulled Pork 

Here is a great little recipe 

Place all the ingredients into a slow cooker for 8-10 hrs and get the end result

ingredients

• 1.5-2kg pork shoulder, all fat removed
• 5 tbsp Worcestershire sauce 
• 1 tsp mustard powder 
• 500g passata
• 3 tbsp balsamic vinegar 
• 2 cloves of garlic, crushed
• 3 tbsp sweetener
• Salt and freshly ground black pepper 

method

1. In a small bowl, mix passata, Worcestershire sauce, balsamic vinegar, mustard powder, garlic, sweetener and seasoning. Transfer to a small pan and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the sauce thickens. 
2. Meanwhile, trim and remove all visible fat from the pork and sear all sides in a hot frying pan. Transfer to a slow cooker coat with the sauce and cook for 8-12 hours on LOW.
3. Remove the pork from the slow cooker and place on a cutting board. Allow the meat to cool for approximately 15 minutes, then shred into bite-sized pieces using two forks. 
4. Remove the sauce from the pan and set aside to drizzle on the meat later.
